Rode has officially launched two new accessories aimed at enhancing iPhone videography for mobile content creators. The announcement, made at NAB 2024, introduces the innovative Phone Cage and the Magnetic Mount, both designed to facilitate professional-level filmmaking using an iPhone.
The Phone Cage is a comprehensive mounting system crafted from lightweight aluminum, featuring a MagSafe-compatible mounting disk at its center. This setup not only stabilizes the iPhone but also offers various attachment points for additional filmmaking gear. Equipped with five cold shoe slots and 33 mounting threads, the Phone Cage allows videographers to attach lights, microphones, extra batteries, and more, thus converting the iPhone into a versatile filming apparatus. The Phone Cage is set to begin shipping on April 24 and is available for preorder at a price of $120.
In a similar vein, the Magnetic Mount offers a more compact solution for filmmakers. It consists of a main mounting puck and three detachable arms, designed to support filming accessories in both landscape and portrait modes. One of the arms even includes a quarter-inch thread for tripod mounting, enhancing the versatility of this accessory. The Magnetic Mount is ideal for videographers who prefer a lighter setup without sacrificing functionality. Like the Phone Cage, it will start shipping on April 24, with preorders currently available for $90.
